76 K20 with 4'' & 35's
The PO cut part of the front fenders. I don't know if he experienced rubbing and cut, or cut while doing the lift. |

My truck has a 5" lift with 285-70-17's on it. Tires are a little small for my taste(about a 33" tire), but they have a ton of tread left so i'll wear them out and then put 35's on.

Re: 4" lift on 35's?
Nah, nothing major.. I pulled that setup out of the truck and put it under military blazer with 38's and I need to do a little trim as they do rub a little at full lock when it a bind.

Re: 4" lift on 35's?
35" is the largest tire series for this class and 4 " lift doesn't give any of the issues on 35"... but yes if 3" lift I have seen many of them not going good... best of luck!!!!

I am running a 4 inch lift and 35s in my 78 k15 and didn't have issues until I went to 15x12 wheels with 3.5" back spacing

Re: 4" lift on 35's?
4 inches is 4 inches. 35's will fit on just about any 4" lift. However, some of the softer brands might allow for more flex that might put the tire in contact with the fender with the wheels turned.
Mine didn't rub with 4" rough country springs and a shackle flip out back. That being said I chopped the bottom 4"s from the front of the fenders. I did that due to rust in the fenders but also because they were close enough to touch the tires off road I chose to lop them off.

Re: 4" lift on 35's?
I don't feel that my Rough country springs are overly stiff. They are firm, don't get me wrong but they aren't rattling my teeth out either. There are softer setups for sure but these don't bother me. Having the shackle flip out back helps the overall ride quality too though.
My shackle flip brackets are different in style than ORD or DIY4X hangers. Mine were built by a now defunct fab shop called Echobit. They use the stock spring hangers and bolt on where the shackle used to sit and extend down to let the shackle bolt up under the bracket. For mine all it took was pulling the shackle bolt to the spring hanger, flipping it under and bolting the flip bracket in and the hanger to it. Still using one of the ord or diy kits don't take much more. You do have to deal with the rivets to the stock hanger, but that's not a problem with a die grinder and air chisel. As far as sagging is concerned, since it uses stock springs if you have a sag already the shackle flip won't net the normal 4" of lift that it normally done. If you went with blocks instead of the flip you still wouldn't net the 4" it says.

thanks for all the great info. my factory springs did not sag at all. but i will probably just go with another full spring lift when i pull off the 6 inch one i have now. Shackle flip would be the only other thing i would consider. i bet ride quality is great with that setup and a nice set of springs up front. thanks again |
