Hybrid 71 Chevy C10 Fleetside

I have just installed 71 GMC original fenders, a 67-68 aftermarket radiator support, 67-68 original grill, 67-68 cowl induction hood on my 71 Chevy C10 fleetside. I can't adust the hood so that the gaps on the side of the hood and fenders and between the front and the grill are equal. The hood leaves a gap of about 1/2" in the middle when the hood hits on the grill on the sides. The next thing I am going to try is leaving the inner fenders off and see if this helps any, then I am going to try an old rusted out radiator support that I have to see if there is any difference between it and that aftermarket one. I lreally like the look of the cowl hood and really want to use it, but is it the problem? I guess the third option is trying an original hood. I am going to exhaust all options before I give up on the hood because it's so sharp looking on the 67-68 front end. Can anyone who has tried to do something similar give me some advice. Thanks in advance for any help.

I think the problem may be in that 67-70 hoods and front fenders are different than the 71-72 series.

Maybe a 71 or 72 hood is in order to mate up with the 71 fenders?

I'm no pro (and continually here learning stuff to fix up my own '71 short fleet) so hopefully someone else with more knowledge will respond and correct me if I'm wrong.

Good luck fixing her up!

Some of the Board members have reported problems with the way the cowl hoods fit.I would suggest you try a factory hood first since it is easier to change. The Chevy hoods are different between years but I am not sure about the GMC ones.I beleive the radiator supports are different on the Chevy also but the GMC may be the same thru all the years.
Have a little patience and someone will answer your question and tell you if the things you are trying to get to work together will fit.
