sorry guys tis has probably been asked before
SORRY FOR THE LONG POSTmy dad has a 1970 chevy 4wd long bed, he is getting his bench seat redone(well not yet he is just arranging things with the upholstery shop) and this is his daily driver. so it would be hard for us to leave it at a shop becasue the seat, so i told my dad how about i put my buddy buckets in and you give the shop your bench. i remmember somthin about 69 72 cabs not having a brace or somthin? well my dad doesnt drive it everyday in a week and when he doesn it doesnt get driven for hours....so can i put my buckets in his truck for the time being? thanks rick

Re: sorry guys tis has probably been asked before
Rick, I think you are right about the buddy trucks having extra re-enforcement but I had buddys in my bench
seat truck for a few years and they felt plenty stable. Your call entirely and if I made a bad choice, I'm sure we will both know soon enough. Generous offer BTW. .

Re: sorry guys tis has probably been asked before
Should be no problem to use them. There is an extra brace in the center, but you don't need to drill a hole for it.

Re: sorry guys tis has probably been asked before
yes the brace is just so if someone sits in the center it touches the hump and stops right?

Re: sorry guys tis has probably been asked before
They bolt right in on the sides where its important. The brace is just a bracket hanging down the middle and you could bolt it through the floor if you really wanted to.
I put a set of buddies in my 71 K20 with zero problems. I just preferred a bench seat more so I got rid of the buddies. Oh and good for you for helping out your pops!

Re: sorry guys tis has probably been asked before
I always just take my seat. I think it's a great way to help your dad out. He's your buddy. That's where the name comes from. They are made to swap with bench seats so your buddy can get his seat redone. You can't do that with the other buckets.

Re: sorry guys tis has probably been asked before
It will bolt right in with no issues. I just pulled a set of buddies from a truck, and it also had the extra holes (inner) for mounting a bench seat. The factory had plugged the unused holes with bolts.
