Anybody in Oklahoma/Texas need a new project?

I'll try to keep this as short as possible. I have a 1978 4x4 GMC Jimmy Blazer. The blazer belonged to my father. He passed away from a massive heart attack a little over a year and five months ago. He was on his way home from a fishing trip when it hit him and he died on the side of the road. The blazer has been parked in the driveway since the night he died when I drove it home from the impound yard. I started it about once a month to keep the battery up and to just let the motor run for 5-10 min. The blazer is far from perfect, but he drove it daily until he died. It has rust in the floor pan on the drivers side and some rust on the fender wells. The body has some dents in it also. Ever since he died I've thought about trying to restore it, but I've come to the conclusion that it's probably more of a project than I'm able to handle on my own since I've never done a full resto job before and I'd never be happy with it unless it was returned to near show quality condition. I don't know the exact info on the blazer, but it's a auto and has a rebulit 350 in it supposedly. Everything did work on it except the A/C when it was parked. The power windows and locks function correctly. It has buckets with center console and the rear seat also. It has heavy duty front and rear bumpers on it. Yesterday I decided to try to get it driveable again so I replaced the spark plugs, rotor button, battery, fan belt, air cleaner, and fuel filter. I was never able to get it started though. I'm sure it something simple since it's started fine everytime I've tried it up until yesterday.
I just got my '84 K10 and I also have another project on the way, a '86 K5 so I'm never gonna get anything done with this, and it's dumb to let it just sit and go to waste.

I also have a 1979 2wd long bed chevy Big 10 Bonanza. This truck was dads work truck. It ran fine when he died. I moved it to the back yard during the funeral because all the family was here and we needed parking space. This truck ran fine the day I parked it, but it has NOT been started since then. It's a auto, 350. I need to get rid of it too because I'll never do anything with it either. Both vehicles just make me think of him and all the times we had in them and most people may think that's something you want to hang on to, but it's a little different for me. It's very depressing for me.

I'll take $1700 for the blazer and $800 for the truck or you can have them both for $2300.

I'm not posting these on craigslist or anywhere else. I just figured that these vehicles would be put to better use by the people and community on this board. If you have any questions my number is 580-916-8930. I'm located in Ardmore. I'm about 5 miles east off of I-35.

Re: Anybody in Oklahoma/Texas need a new project?

Hey all,
I need to get rid of these. I'll drop the price of the blazer to $1400 and the truck to $500. I think that's pretty fair and I have the titles for both vehicles. The blazer has good rubber on it. The blazer runs now, guess I flooded it the othe day when I changed the plugs.
My number is 580-916-8930
Thanks,

Okay,
Thanks, sorry to hear about your Dad, I lost mine back in 2003.

I Hope you find a new home for them. I have 5-6 projects already or I would consider them too.

I hope you don't mind but, here are your pics:

Re: Anybody in Oklahoma/Texas need a new project?

Anybody want to give me $1500 for both of them together? Geez I didn't really think I would have such a hard time getting rid of these. 2 vehicles for $1500, is that not a good deal?

I'd have to borrow a rollback to get them both at once. I eyeballed the blazer fairly hard, but it is just more of a resto than I'm looking for.

What's the chances of more pictures of the truck? Front end, interior, rockers etc.
