Service Parts Identification Sheet SPI
Last year I created a Service Parts Identification Sheet using Microsoft Excel.
These are the stickers that were located on the inside of the glove box door that listed the options specific to your truck. If you would like a copy just PM me your email address. Everybody loves free stuff Happy Trails from Lakeroadster! FYI: Data shown on the plate reflects a SPI that was posted on Ebay. Using Excel you can add - change - delete the data however you see fit. |

Re: Service Parts Identification Sheet SPI
These began to appear in 1966, is that correct?

Re: Service Parts Identification Sheet SPI
I believe that's true. I know my '65 didn't have one.
But for a hot rodder like me the rules are there ain't no rules. My SPI will have that ultra rare COPO Camaro dash option, which itself wasn't around until '67. Makes my head hurt just thinking about how the logistics to that would have worked out. |

Yours was the concept vehicle was it not? I think I have a picture of your one off truck in some literature. Usually the GM concept cars and trucks were crushed or sent overseas, in your case it was sent to Colorado! Man some guys have all the luck!

Re: Service Parts Identification Sheet SPI
Damn it Aerotruck63, now the "cat" is out of the bag..... or should I say "Panther"?
I have a first generation Camaro, the history behind the concept was pretty cool. In mid-1963 GM let a rumour go unchecked of a project to compete with the soon to be released Mustang. The GM project was knownn as XP-836. Last edited by lakeroadster; 03-27-2011 at 03:35 PM. |
