I'm trying to find out if i have the o.g. rims or if they changed them. I found some hubcaps but they measure around 10", but the hubcaps i have measure 12". Do i have aftermarket wheels? Confused. oh and i have a c20.

Re: Stock wheels

Stllookn would be the man to ask...he specializes in the '68 Anniversary trucks and seems to have a passion for the stock steelies.
You should PM him and I'll also give him a heads-up on this thread.

Nice rig BTW!!

Oh and by the way...

Re: Stock wheels

Andyboy and James, The "most common" stock wheels had clips to retain the hubcaps. There was a 1/2 ton option with wheels that had nubs on the outside but the caps were smaller diameter...like 9+or- inch. I changed computers and have misplaced about 7 yr worth of truck pics so bear with me until I find some examples.

BTW...nice 50th...you guys in CA get all the nice trucks!

Re: Stock wheels

That wheel shown is a later wheel than available on any 67-72. The 16" wheels were split rim and only 16.5s were tubeless type. There were larger wheels available, too. The 67/68 wheels used inner clips to mount the hubcaps. The hubcaps has a stepped inner lip required. I don't have a stock bare wheel photo or one of the back side of a cap. But,here is a stock GMC wheel/cap combo:

Here is an optional camper wheel (8.25 x 16.5) with inner clips:

Re: Stock wheels

I don't think these were around for 67, however the 1/2ton is approx 10 1/4
and the 3/4 is about 11 3/4 inches on the inside. The larger will fit your C20
wheels. They are around $20 to 30 at the swap meets...a set...
