Re: How to identify column wiring?
standard non tilt column.
Tilt would have a light on it with an added grey wire |

Re: How to identify column wiring?
In the first picture of the switch there is a socket attached to the switch which makes the switch one that is used in a tilt column.

Re: How to identify column wiring?
Is that where the bulb would mount?

Re: How to identify column wiring?
Jim! GREAT EYE!
I looked for the wire and saw nothing! Jim is 100% right, that is a bulb holder, it is for a tilt. On the other question on where to plug the wire for the light, it plugs into the fuse block, on the terminal labled cluster feed. This will control the light with the dash lights. |

Re: How to identify column wiring?
So am I still missing the grey wire then? And where to find that bulb? I'll check my factory assembly manual to see if I can find out in there.
Is there a difference between 4spd and auto columns on the wiring?

Re: How to identify column wiring?
I'm not 100% positive, but I highly doubt there is though.

Re: How to identify column wiring?
I don't know what that wiring harness goes to but it is not for a factory tilt column

Re: How to identify column wiring?
That's not from a 67-72 truck column. Looks like either 66 or older truck or possibly a 68 or older car, Impala, Camaro ext.
