Lowering Blocks ?

Does anyone make lowering blocks for the 67-72 trucks. I have seen someone on the board make some before, just wanted to know my lowering options with some rear blocks involved. Thanks.

cpp, brothers both make specific kits

I've bought the solid aluminum ones from CPP & used them for 5+ years. I swapped them recently for some driveway made 2" sq tubing blocks.

I just bought some DJM ones and am gonna have my u-bolts made at a shop here in town. They were like $15 w/shipping.

What was the reasoning for changing them? Just a different height?

now that u mention brothers, has anyone used there adj track arm ? seems lats cheaper than the cpp unit

Different height (went to a 2" block) & wanted a steel bock for the ability to modify it slightly for my application. I made them from stainless @ first but they were a lot harder to work on @ home so I re-did them in some mild steel .250" wall stuff.

im also wondering whats holding them between teh trailing arm and trhe rearend beside the ubolts?? are the ubolts all that is needed

Yep, just the U-bolts. I ended up making mine out of the same .250" square steel tubing that Scoti did.

ok.. and i assume nobody has had a problem with the block falling out

The u-bolt goes through the block... If that were to happen, I'd really have to question my ability to turn wrenches....

Here are the ones I made. I was using .250 stainless but opted for mild steel to make fabrication easier @ home (gotta' weld the stainless @ work). The second pic is a close-up of the 'crush sleeve' just to make sure nothing collapses.....

I know this is an old thread but I was looking at lowering blocks and liked the way Scoti cut the blocks at an angle to make a longer more stable base.

Lightened up the photo a bit, and reposting it for others to see more clearly.

Thanks! That Panhard bar bracket is double shear w/one leg going all the way through the block (welded top, sides, & bottom).
