Re: New wheels and rubber!! Boss 338
yea according to my chart that i use the 18x9.5 is -4 offset which is about 5 1/8 inches" of backspace and the 20x10 is a +20 offset which is around 6 3/8 inches. so yea I guess a 1 1\4 spacer would put it the same as the 18x9.5, with a -10 offset or 5.1" of backspace.

Re: New wheels and rubber!! Boss 338
Wheels and truck look fantastic along with the porterbuilt suspension components, but...
I'd like to know what gas tank you are using? Although I have no problem with the aftermarket aluminum tanks, your factory blazer, suburban? model looks like it takes advantage of the few inches between the frame rails and the bed floor and is actually a little higher vs lower like the others. Please advise! Thank you. |

Yea the tank is a blazer tank modified for the truck I have it bolted in place against the rail until I get the bed sat on it then I have to move it around and adjust for the bed supports.

Re: New wheels and rubber!! Boss 338
There are 2 versions of the Boss 338 rims now. The earlier Part # is 338 228 502 the newer rim is 338 xxx xx3. The first number looks to be the rim, the middle number looks to the style (chrome, black, gray etc.), the last is the run number (2 is the version prior to 3). The local distributor just informed me. That is why I am looking for the 338228502 version for my truck to replace my damaged 1. Just an FYI on the part numbers.
Oh forgot, they changed the inner diameter of the center hole to accommodate the guys with larger bearing hubs. I think I am screwed, but will keep looking for the one. Last edited by mentlmidget; 03-30-2011 at 05:29 PM. |
