Lower Control arm frustration...

So i am working on this blazer of mine and discovered that the lower control arm was bent at some point (looks like it was curbed or a tow hook ripped into it). So far, i have purchased 3 different arms and had no luck (one was wrong balljoint size, one exact same damage and 3rd one rust and shaft threads stripped). I seem to have exhausted the local supply. Does someone sell these arms new/repop?

You know you should just switch it out to 3/4 suspension and take mine Problem solved. I haven't had a chance to check the size but you're probably right that the 3/4 arms are different than 1/2T.

Change the ball joint on the one with the wrong balljoint. I've done it more times than I can count.

Good luck, Rg

You can do that, but you have to change out the balljoint also. I have also put the '73 up drop spindles on the 72 down arms by putting 73 up balljoints on my old arms. I love these trucks, there's so many ways to make them work!

Re: Lower Control arm frustration...

i specifically have 71-72 drop spindles. The 3/4 balljoint hole is larger diameter than the 1/2 ton.
