Hello from Canada! - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Hi! I recently bought a '85 GMC K1500, cleverly disguised as a ~'79 Chevy K2500!
This is how the truck looked shortly after I purchased it:

The truck was built here in Canada

, originally had a 4.3L V-6, and was a "High Sierra".
A previous owner put a 350 in it with an edelbrock carb and intake, diffs from a '74 K25 or K35(14 bolt rear, dana 44 w/big bearings front), and basically patched the truck together so it could roll around. I ended up having to fix half of the work he did.

So far I have repaired, replaced or rebuilt the following:

all 4 brakes, bearings and seals
complete park brake assembly(wasn't even there)
all fluid flushes
starter
front/rear bumper
washer fluid system incl. wiring(also wasn't there)
complete exhaust(headers/resonators, mufflers coming in summer)
engine(threw a rod out the pan)
plugs, wires, cap/rotor
rebuilt the rochester carb
clutch(has ms465 tranny, will be swapping out for nv4500 come summer)
wheels/tires from an '03 hummer H2
bench seat
battery
~7 bulbs

and more that I can't remember.
anyhow, this is how the truck looks now! I have just started driving it this week!

I will be using the truck as a daily driver.
