Rear Axle ID

Ran into a issue this morning! Went to take the tires off to start stripping components and the lug nuts were two diffrent sizes. I am now trying to ID the differential. It is a GM 10.5 axle (14 bolt) with an axle code of RF or RF K. Not at work so anyone have a refrence chart? I do not think it is year correct for my 1970 1 ton Longhorn!

Re: Rear Axle ID

Since gcburdic was nice enough to put this back up I'll report that the axle is out of a 1977 1 ton truck. It is the 14 bolt 30 spline GM corporate differential I have seen and worked on a lot. I just was not sure what year they started using it, but got that answer Monday also...1973. So I have to decide if I'm keeping it or trying to hunt down the 1970 1 ton no spin rear axle. This one is open so at the very least I'll have to get a Detroit Locker unit to get it closer to original. Kinda bummed but these axles were pretty indestructible!
