are the stock 67 bench seats rare?

I bought a 67 chevy c-10 on friday and the it has the factory bench seat, sorry don't have any pics as of yet, maybe someone else does, but it's the one that has the piece in the middle that folds forward, and i was wondering if they were rare and worth anything? it needs to be re-upholstered, but the guy that sold it to me said it was probally still worth 100 or 200 bucks as is. what do you guys think?

I'll give ya $100 for it delivered!

Heck yes, it's worth anywhere from $200-up.

BTW, what you describe is the factory bucket seat configuration. It's basically a 40/20/40 seat on a tubular frame and only the driver side adjusts. The center seat doubles as an armrest/console. Is it like the one in the pic below (far left)?

These are somewhat rare and very desirable for somebody wanting one.

Linus, you can be first as I was only kidding. I have 2 sets, one a truck version, the other an "ultra-rare" burb version. The burb version does not have the flip up center seat back and the console is hinged differently.

Question Would you happen....?

to have a pic of the BURB bucket seat configuration available to post. I think I have a line on a set of BURB buckets for our 71, but am not sure that they are the "real" thing. A pic would help to clarify the authenticity of the set I'm looking at.....THANKS!!! Jack

7t1burb,

The seats are in storage and not accessible (easilly). I can tell you the 67/68 burb buckets are identicle to green truck buckets (LH side of pic) in every way except there is no flip up seat back for the center seat/console. This is because the there is no gas tank to support it in the upright position. Consequently, the center seat/console hinge mechanism is different and is really heavy duty compared to that on trucks. I presume this is to prevent someone from flipping it up and damaging the hinge because there is no seat back to stop it.

So what is pictured is dead on, including vinyl pattern, configuration, and frame with the exception of the center console/seat differences mentioned above.

The 69-72 buckets pictured center and right would be the same regardless of whether they came from a truck or burb.

Hope this helps.

THANKS!

Jeff: Thank you once again!! I was unsure if the 69-72 BURB buckets were the same as P/Us. I went back last night and looked at them again and they are from a later (73-up) version.....definately not 67-72. BTW: the BURB is up and running and I'll begin painting (after two weeks of tedious block sanding!) it in the next two weeks. The TCS I bought from you last year works great. Thanks.....7T1BURB
