Re: Trac-Loc
Is that for a 60? I've got a couple of them, but sold my truck before I installed one. They are an OK choice for a street driven limited slip. Use Belleville springs for clutch pack pre-load and they have a reputation for wearing reasonably quickly.
Dollar per dollar, least expensive way to get a clutch type limited slip in a Dana 60. The Powerlock is the preferred Dana limited slip, but they are three times the price. 3 times as good? Arguably I guess, but I have no qualms about installing and running one FWIW.

Re: Trac-Loc
The one I have is for a Dana44 front. I got it used and very reasonable. I figure for the front and nothing extreme it would be a nice enhancement, especially with a Power-loc Dana60 in the rear.

Re: Trac-Loc
Awesome. Would definitely install it in a front over an open diff.

interested in this as well, as I have one in my old suburban front D44HD that I am waiting to get back from the truck.

Re: Trac-Loc
As said above, they tend to wear fairly quickly. If you can, take it apart now and check out the clutches and the side gears. Look for wear on the side gear splines, and look for wear where the Belleville washer rides. Because all the pressure rides on that contact surface, thats where you will see the most wear.
They are kind of tricky the first time through one, but it's just time. You can make all the tools they list, you shouldn't have to buy any tools to rebuild one of these. http://www2.dana.com/pdf/5313-3.pdf |

Re: Trac-Loc
Thanks, that's really helpful. At least in the front it shouldn't wear so fast
