5.3L header question

I'm going to install a 5.3L / 4L60e into my 57 chevy truck and wanted to find out what brand, style, etc. others are using for this swap?

I've seen some use the stock corvette mainfolds, would this be a good alternative over aftermarket headers?

TBSS are the best option. They hug the block and breath rather well for stock. I used Sanderson CSLS1 shorties on my LS swap.

I currently run block huggers on my sbc and while they flow pretty good, they won't seal worth a dang.

When I do the engine swap to the 5.3L, I want to try and get the collector past the oil pan, hopefully.

Anyone else have any ideas on which ones to use?

I have seen a few use the Doug Thorley headers. They sell a short and long model. I have looked at flow rates on the factory GM manifolds for that engine and they are right there with the headers. If you have clearance issues look at the Trailblazer SS monifolds, they tuck in.

For those that have seal issues with headers, use Earl's gaskets. They are almost a 1/4" and they'll seal the side of a barn! I had leak problems on my 283 mouse motor with headers until I used Earl's. Summit carries them.

With my Sanderson headers, I used Permatex Ultra black silicone gasket maker and have never had an issue with leaks.
