Still debating on the paint no paint. The lower wood trim could use new wood grain tape and that might help my paint / no paint dilemma as at least it would look 100%. I think the driver side cab mount might be shot as well as it has a slight sag to it, but haven't investigated too much as it keeps raining.

Thanks Shane for posting the sticker. Burt is still in business but they were bought out by a different company a few years ago.
I am one of those older folks...maybe not wiser...but I remember Burt Chevrolet being in the same place since I was a kid.
My advice on the paint is to leave it with the beautiful patina. I just like nice straight trucks that look like they have been around for a while. JMHO.

Also, I didn't know that custom campers came with coil springs. I have a 70 custom camper and it has leaf springs.

My 69'er CC has coil springs, too. I just installed 1 inch spacers in the back to give it a little more rake.

That is a beautiful truck. I want to sell the camper shell and get a tonneau cover to protect the bed.

Did you make your hard tonneau or find a year that fit right?

Thanks! 8^)
I'm actually looking at getting rid of the tonneau cover this fall (the bed rails will have to be refinished so I'll wait to do that this coming winter).
It came with the truck when I bought it. I'm pretty sure it's just a universal fit for an 8ft Chevy bed.

The stance looks great, these are the real muscle trucks, (trucks with strong rear axles). Just curious on the spacers, do they fit under the coil or inbetween? Rubber or Steel?

These are the spacers I got:

Under the coil. I had to get a longer truck arm-to-coil spring retainer bolt. Besides that, everything was pretty straight forward.

A very nice truck indeed!! I am in Layton all the time and you might have seen my Longhorn running around once in a while. It is a survivor except the PO repainted the outside. It has an original interior and is blue with a white top. In your case I would do some detail work on the trim and engine etc but leave the original paint as it really looks cool on these trucks with a stock appearance. I would love to stop in and see your truck one day. Pm me if ya like. Phil

WOW!,

That is clean. You should see my crappy interior! I would be tempted to leave that truck alone. Just clean it up. Details, you know.

Enjoy the Rims and caps.

Like everyone has said. It orginal only once. Just keep the truck from rusting more and leave it alone. Welcome to the board.
