Paint Code on my '67
Hello All!!
Anyone familiar with the paint code 528 on my 1967 GMC 1/2 ton with panoramic rear window? I think it might be blue? or white? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks David |

Re: Paint Code on my '67
I found this PPG chip chart but it doesn't mention that code. I did run into a cross referance that
mentioned GM code #WA5128, Palomino/Tan but according to this, GM's number was 527 for that color. Maybe someone can add to this. |

Found the code on the glove box door, with the list of options.
If that helps? David |

Yow. GM did a few unusual things for the North of the Border trucks and even finding a SPID in a GMC
is highly unusual. Please, please post a pic on here! |

Can you tell me what a SPID is? Not up on the board lingo yet. What kind of pic would you like. She is not pretty, but I like her

Re: Paint Code on my '67
Welcome! 528 is the Ivory on the paint chip sheet that ET posted above.
The label inside your glove box door is the Service Parts IDentification label that shows how the truck was optioned. Any and all pics of trucks are encouraged here, even if they aren't pretty.

Re: Paint Code on my '67
Yes! A very BIG WELCOME to the board 67 project!!
(awesome board name BTW) Just to show how unusual you truck is, there's a thread currently about GMC SPIDS HERE. Very cool GruntMoanCough! Never got a handle on how PPG/GM seemed to migrate the paint code numbers. Can you explain to us and do you have any links to GMC specific stuff? Still subscribed! Oh, BTW...I have a '67 GMC, as well. NO truck could look as bad (or grungy) as mine! . Last edited by ETsC10; 04-01-2011 at 02:11 AM. |

The Ivory is code 526, not 528. I'm wondering if the cab or something has been changed since he has a BBW and the only 528 paint code that I can find is Dark Bronze metallic for 1970 exclusively. I think we need some pics to clarify.

Here are some pics of the SPID and the truck itself. Let me know what you think.
Thanks David |
