taking out a windshield
How do you remove a windshield out of our trucks with the chrome trim in the gasket?

BRICK
Are you removing it to replace the glass?
If so kill the glass. If you are replacing the seal, it can be sacrificed pretty easily too. |

lol longhorn. My track record on removing windshields wont require a brick for me. I'm taking one out of a old parts truck to save back.

I'd cut the rubber. It isn't worth saving anyways.

Do what Andy says. Cut the rubber (cut the hell out of it, it's a POS anyways after it's been used), they're fairly easy to remove with the rubber cut out.

Process= with a razor box cutter and some heavy gloves, cut the inside of the windshield gasket being careful not to let the cutter get away from you. The rubber will be hard and soft in places so be careful. Make a circle cut around the windshield pulling the excess rubber as you go, then push the window forward till it pops loose. Usually the upper corners are the toughest to get out as they were put in with some caulking from the factory. Don't bang the window unless youare trashing it as old glass is more fragile then the new stuff. Good luck--Huck
PS Much easier to get out then to get in!! |

Yep - do what they said.
Cut the gasket on the inside. Then you get in the cab and push out with your feet. Have a buddy on the outside to catch the glass. |

Thanks guys I did what you all said and just cut the gasket, only I didn't know and took the stainless trim out and cut it on the outside. It came out easy.
