Re: exhaust on a slammed c-10
I think they're hedman, I bought them a couple of years ago and now I cant remember the brand LOL
That was before I put the mufflers on. It wanst load but it would rattle like a fart can import when you decelerate. In this pic you can see where the mufflers are now

Re: exhaust on a slammed c-10
I run mine from stock manifolds below the clutch linkage, above the tranny x member straight back to the trailing arm x member. There are two holes with pipe lining them in for support. From there it goes into two glasspacks angled up and then a u turn above the frame rail and under the bed to dump right in front of the rear tire. It doesn't drone like under cab dumps and is very livable. There's about 2 inches of clearance between the pipe and the bed floor.
It was really fun to make... 8 hours on my back welding the mandrel pipe around everything. but it works and sounds great, far enough back to be better than dumps and is entirely above the frame. (note: not at full lay-out)

Re: exhaust on a slammed c-10
Well mines not laying frame. I run camaro LT'sand my exhaust isnt done but heres my plan..
Flex joint off headers into x-pipe,then through the trailing arm x-member then turn through frame then turn back into mufflers then out the back following the frame. I also have nothing hanging below the frame so that way I dont have to worry about scrapping the ground.

Re: exhaust on a slammed c-10
ok. so i have an 85 longbed. when i picked truck up i needed exhaust done.
took it to a guy who messed truck up pretty good. long story. anyhow eventually he got it finished. put on new piping from manifolds back. cat, muffler, and 2 exit pipes. now last week i took truck to a guy to do the spindles for me. and when he started flip kit and shackles, he decided it necessary to cut off piping on passenger side. right at muffler. so now i have a muffler with two exit holes, 1 length of pipe running on the driver side that exits behind rear wheel. and an open hole at muffler. thought about asking another muffler man to maybe cut the existing pipe and put 2 turndowns at end of muffler. ?? bad thought? that the dumping your talking about?? will it be stupid loud??? am i eating gas by having open hole now? dont have cash to redo exhaust right now. thanks for any opinions |

Re: exhaust on a slammed c-10
If he had to cut the exit pipe to do a flip kit than he should put it back on.

Re: exhaust on a slammed c-10
yea, well. guess his reason was the way it was routed, the axle would be in the way.
and then seeing the way he hacked up the bed supports for shackles. and the fact that he didnt install rear shocks because he said they didnt fit...which turned out into me taking the rear shocks he put in the front... and putting them where they go, then putting in the front shocks. and then re doing flip kit...etc. so no, truck wont be going back there. |

Re: exhaust on a slammed c-10
anyone with a low suburban running exhaust out the rear? I ask because I have a dump on mine before the rear axle now and the interior drone is a little bit too much for me at highway speeds. It should not be a problem to have it re-done to exit the body but there is not a lot of room between the axle and the body, and it also has the big 40 gallon fuel tank to not much room around that either. I am just curious to see what's been done.....

Re: exhaust on a slammed c-10
i had a little room so my exhaust guy tucked the tips out in front of the rear tires,a little different than everyone else,it kinda grew on me.i had no room to go further back because of c-notch.rear end and body is close to rear aired out....anyway i think this looks pretty cool.
