bed panel bolts rubbing cab
Anyone else have the issue where the top front bed panel bolts rub the cab occasionally? Mine seems to rub i assume when i hit a big dip or something. I thought about drilling top bolt and putting a carriage or something, any other ideas don't really want to do that?

Re: bed panel bolts rubbing cab
It sounds like you don't have a sufficiently wide enough gap between the cab and the bed. It should be about 1/2 inch at the beltline. Someone may have removed and replaced the bed and didn't adjust the gap properly.

Re: bed panel bolts rubbing cab
i put the bed back on a couple of weeks ago and i have the cross-sills pulled back toward the rear as far as they will go. Measuring i have about quarter of an inch between the end of the hex bolt and the cab. From the bed panel to the cab i have a little over 1/2 inch.

Re: bed panel bolts rubbing cab
Is this a Fleetside or Stepside bed you have? The 1/2 inch gap at the beltline on my Fleetside bed leaves about 3/4 inch between the boltheads and the back of the cab. Don't know about a Stepside but a 1/4 inch at the boltheads on either one doesn't sound like enough to handle any flexibility. You may need to hog out the frame holes a little to allow you to move the bed back a bit more. I had to do that with mine to get the correct fit from side to side.

Re: bed panel bolts rubbing cab
If you have a 3/4 ton Chassis you may have bad rear cab mounts that will let the back of the cab hang and sag.
