Re: Truck bucks hard when put in reverse

most likely it is something loose in the drivetrain. A worn u-joint, slip joint or execssive slop on the ring and pinions gears can all cause the clunking/banging.....a high idle speed can make it even worse.

x2 on what Longhair said..

However, I had a similar problem with my truck when I would pop it into reverse. It was bad, the entire truck twisted. Turns out my shocks were bad. Replaced them with the new drop shocks and everything was normal.

Mine bucks very hard when put into gear period, but I've got slop in every single piece of my drivetrain, so...Lol.

Re: Truck bucks hard when put in reverse

mine was slamming into reverse pretty hard too after a shift kit uprgrade. Seemed to run fine besides that. Forward gears engaged a little harder but nothing like the reverse.
