Has anyone used the factory a/c compressor (denso brand NOT york or sanden) from 2002 up LS motor to air up airbags?

not going to work. the reason people are using the york compressors due to the fact they do not rely on freon to lubricate them. if you use a the stock compressor you will burn it up in no time. The Yorks have a oil sump like a regular ol' motor.

Um, Im using a regular air compressor and it works just fine. I just put an oiler right before the intake. And then a seperator on the outlet line. It has been working perfectly.

you can see in the picture, there is the chrome filter, then the oiler going into the compressor. then the steel braided line running out, around the back of the block along the firewall to the seperator. to get the oil back to the oiler from the seperator there is a small clear rubber like that runs from the bottom of the seperator back to the oiler. and it uses the pressure from the air tank to push the oil back.

Genius! I love it. Good work Can you share what parts you used and where you sourced them?

Re: ls compressor for air?

oh man, I wish I could help you guys out more, but this was actually a kit from chassi-tech a few years ago, they don't offer the kit anymore, but it seems pretty basic. I took a few more pictures to maybe answer some questions. (sorry they are blurry, i used my phone)
I have actually called the dudes at chassi-tech a few times with questions about the set-up and they are still very knowledgeable on it. So, I'm sure you could call them and they could give you the parts break down.

Im not sure, but I'm guessing, as long as you have an oil set up it doesn't matter.

Re: ls compressor for air?

that's what i read people were doing to make the sandens work. An inline oiler to feed oil in and catch it on the way out. My compressor is not a Sanden though. I guess there's only one way to tell. Just do it. Please take some better pics if you can. Thanks
