Re: Scottsdale - texas goodguys

Congrats, Rob and the gang on the truck win! Sorry we didn't get to see your runs. Coming back in the fall? We are!

That blue '67 on black Coy's sounded awesome- heard it as we sat on the grassy hills while everyone was leaving on Sunday- cool to watch(and hear) the owners having a little fun in the tunnel on the way out...

Re: Scottsdale - texas goodguys

Thanks guys, it was great to meet you all. We had a great time (Babe's chicken is great), and a really long and windy ride home. We won the truck class with a 40.502, fast laps were 39.587 by Brain Finch and Detroit speed. As they got faster, I slipped to a 5th overall finish. That green C-10, from Tennessee, built by Finch, has an LS, auto and CPP suspension parts, and finished 2nd in the truck class with a 41.687 (from my notes) pretty impressive. Rob Phillips and his C-10 are now firmly in the Hotchkis H-team, and competed in the vendor class. Rob say's he'll have the posi fixed for Del-Mar, still, ran a 42.383 (again, from my notes) for a fifth in a tough crowd in the vendor class. All finishes are great for truck lovers, as we put up more proof that trucks CAN handle!!! Hats off- in IMHO, to the guy and his son and there home built 69 camaro, who ran into the 39 sec range, also to Spectra's Brandy Morrow, 3rd in the vendor class, and making big improvements.

Tony,

I assume he means 42.

PCH Rob drives the wheels off of that truck.

Hey Rob,

Congratulations Rob! The trucks are definitely showing the cars a thing or two. It was a great event. Everyone is on top of their game this season. See you at Del-Mar!

Rob - No, you get one more freebie before you face the wrath of Mike! We did get the new engine and the shop is humming with work on both the C-10 and E-Max. You can check up on our progress on the Facebook page. LINK

Glad your making progress. How about the carbon fiber? We hear rumors of fenders, hoods, cabs, doors, and more? And all the one-off components? Will that make it too light? Or, too much of a race car? Well one thing that keeps us all even is tires. I wonder how much faster I'd be with Kumho's, or Pilot's, hmm. Well, hope you make it to P-town, me and the Dueces Wild boys could use the competition. Let me know if we can help.

We’re going to try putting some lighter air in the tires! We'll let Rob tell you guys all his plans.

you know I never thought of that... I have heard of a guy that ran helium and it caused the truck to get to light and loose in the corners.....
