Talking My A/C is back!!!

Fiiiiinally.

It wasn't hard, just took a while seeing as I didn't have a proper wire crimper handy, and no electricity to fire up the soldering iron...now all that's left, really, is to head up to Phoenix, and use my dad's tools to properly secure the relays and switch with some brackets. (That, and a new set of brale pads.)

I've never had the fan work on high...let alone high with fresh wiring! The amount of air it puts out is awesome...but I may need to look into a bigger alternator, as just the fan alone - no A/C compressor - is enough to drop the idle a bit!

I should rephrase that, I suppose; now it works on high, it never has before. It wasn't really due to a failure, but more as a precaution - it got the feed wire HOT in about 10 seconds!!!

No pics, but here's how I have it set up:
*12V from the post on the fender running through 30A fuses to the 30 post on the 30amp relays
*12V, tapped from the "lighter socket" feed (newer wiring, I installed it a few years ago) to the center contacts of a DPDT switch
*Two of the remaining contacts on the switch (one on each end) to 85 on the fan relay
*One contact on the switch to 85 on the compressor relay (so center is off, left is A/C, right is just fan)
*86 on both relays to ground on firewall
*87 on fan relay to fan power wire
*87 on compressor relay to compressor power wire

It's quite simple when you get down to it...

Edit: It's also now ALL 12 gauge wire, even the low-current switched side.
