Talking Fixed my glove box for less than 5 bucks.

The glove box for my truck came in a box of extra parts when I bought it. The plastic had already broken. I found some hinges at the hardware store that worked out really well.

I used the brass screws that came with the hinges and just screwed them into the plastic part of the glove box. The screws will have to be shortened to clear the dash. I used my bench grinder to do this.

I only needed two hinges, it works just as new!!! It doesnt look so bad either.

You should be able to get a used, but not broken, glovebox liner for 5 bux or even free at a local wrecking yard...and it would look/function just like it was supposed to.

But the bling-bling could have been toned down with a shot of black paint !

Brian76GMC, Good job if it works for you....

Re: Fixed my glove box for less than 5 bucks.

I havent found another glovebox that isnt broke or half way to being broken. This was a simple solution for me and it wont break!!!!!!!

Bling? Like the 14x5 chrome air cleaner I just put on top of the crusty, oily, tired 350 under the hood?? hehe

I usually use a piece of leather in place of the plastic that the factory uses. It is flexable and doesn't crack.

Cool I was thinking about doing this so its good to know it worked for someone else. I think I am going to use a long piano type hinge that runs the length of the glove box though.
