Do many of you run your tranny cooling system independent of your radiator?
I have talked a little about this before but I lost a tranny to a bad radiator once and would just like to know how many of you do this. I can either run it seperate or buy a new radiator and hope for the best since that doesn't seem to happen to often but still, who runs them seperate? Thx in advance.

ive always heard to piggy back them.run the line coming straight outta the trans into the radiator then from radiator into the cooler then back to the trans? thats what i plan on running with my truck.

Since you live up in the cold part of the US, you need to run it to the radiator. Cold fluid is just as bad as fluid that is too hot.
So run it to the radiator, and then to an external cooler (if you tow/haul a lot) and then back to the trans. Or just the stock setup if you're not towing etc, will be just fine. Jason

i ran mine in conjunction with the rad and it does great and i have a very small diameter stall converter so the fluid does not stay in there long so it needs to be cool

Living in hot as heck florida I always run a separate cooler and it has worked great in all my buckets.

I run a separate cooler to the trans on my 50 pickup. Have also installed separate cooler on the last 3 cars I worked on, everything works fine.
