Is your BB stock ? with what you have barely described sounds like too small of a carb , 650 cfm is small for even a stock 454 . check your timing .

Yeah guys its stock it has an aftermarket intake and i thought about it being too small but im not rodding this truck just trying to get it running right, i have read on other forums of people running the same demon 625cfm carb on their 454 trucks...

Re: 84 c10 454 Stammering and hard to accelerate from 15-30 mph??
Just sen it to me and I'll send ya my 305!!!
J/K...My truck did that very same thing last week, loading up at low RPM and after idling for a while. I had the carb rebuilt and the float level was set a little high. Adjusted the float level and added two fuel filters cause there was a little trash in the carb. I agree with the previous poster about checking your timing. Have you looked at the color of your plugs lately? Wouldn't hurt to put a vacuum gauge on it either to see if you have any leaks. The Demon 650 will easily run a stock (except intake) 454, especially if you are easy on the throttle. What RPM range are you noticing it in? Keep us updated... I am just down the road from ya in Webb City
