Im looking for new body mounts for my 72 Blazer. Has anyone used the LMC rubber mounts or had any experiences with them??

Re: LMC Rubber Body Mounts

I did a long time ago for my truck. They seemed to work well, but didn't come with any instructions. Just remember how you took them off, and you should be fine.

Re: LMC Rubber Body Mounts

I just did a tech story for the July issue of Classic Trucks (not on sale yet) using LMC Truck's cab mounts on my '73 C10. Its pretty much the same approach to do the mounts on a '67-72. In addition to the rubber mounts, I used the optional urethane mounts that LMC sells as well. I can't tell you how well they'll hold up, but they do come with new bolts. That's a plus if yours are too rusted to reuse.

Re: LMC Rubber Body Mounts

I just installed a set of the LMC rubber mounts in my Blazer. Installation was straightforward and worked out well. The catalog has an illustration of mount part numbers and their locations on the chassis. The mounts come bagged by part number so they are easy to match with the proper location. The only thing I noticed was that the metal spacer sleeves that go inside the mounts were a thinner wall sleeve than the originals were. The new bolts that came with the kit are a necessity. I wouldn't have reused my old ones.

Re: LMC Rubber Body Mounts

I would get them from one of the Board vendors. The rubber stuff I've purchased from LMC was not very good.

I too had a problem with LMC's rubber parts cracking before it even got outside of the paint shop....they sent me all new rubber, but I am not wasting my time installing it...I will be installing Soft Seal Rubber, or Precision in the future.

I don't give d*** that the replacement rubber was free....it is my time and labor to take every d*** thing apart and re-install new rubber....I sure as h*** ain't gonna do it a THIRD time! ....well, not for another 30+ years

Re: LMC Rubber Body Mounts

Are you specifically talking body mount kits or weather stripping and window seals, because the original question was in regards to an LMC body mount kit?

Re: LMC Rubber Body Mounts

Thanks for all the replies. I figgured Id ask because I had heard bad things about LMC rubber (mostly trim pieces), I just wanted to see if it was the same for their body mounts. They are like $100 cheaper in LMC so I wanted to poll the board before jumping.

I was referring to other rubber products I have gotten from them. Based on the quality of those pieces I would shop elsewhere.

Right now, I don't trust LMC for anything, and I am going other places...most of their parts come from somewhere in Asia and they don't have any control over what gets sold....I don't think that they actually look into the boxes/bags before they sell the parts...they were not really interested in seeing what the actual problem with my rubber parts was and they certainly did not want it sent back for evaluation (I asked).

Just my .02

They've been doing fine, I haven't had any problems with them.

But, I haven't been to satisfied with stuff from LMC. Some of their replacement parts are plastic, whereas the OE equipment is metal. The plastic stuff just breaks to easily
