black ball
ok i have a 82 c10 and i am cleaning under the hood as much as possible and was wondering what the blac ball with the two hoses is for on hose runs iinside the cab and one too a switch on the firewall i also have the evap canister against my radiator support do i really need this?

The black globe is usually a vacuum resevoir.

Vacuum canister is what that be, by golly. It holds a reserve for the accessories and comes into play when you change RPMs on your engine. It allows some time for the vacuum to restore after putting more load on the engine, so that your A/C air does not change flowpaths.

Sorry For bringing this back up so i dont need this if im not running ac or do i need it for the heater

As far as I know that controls the vac. things the open the various doors inside the box to change where the air or heat comes out, like defrost, chest, floor, etc.

I have a 1986 c10 and it has one connection...now I see the line going into the cab so how does it hookup with one connection on the ball? Do I need a tee and/or a check valve?
