Electric fan set-ups in 67-72s

I'm just about to set my radiator and support back in my 67. I'm running 92 serp belt and am thinking of running electric fan(s). I know Old Air and others have the dual fan set-ups for 450+, but I was hoping someone had converted some boneyard stuff to our pickups. Any info and pics appriciated. I am a boneyard digger!! Danny. I'll also attach a pic of my project.

Have you seen our design? We now offer a choice of either Flex-A-Lite fans or Derale Huricanes. Our assemblies are a little less money and are more specific to our trucks. Here is a link: http://www.classicheartbeat.com/cata...assemblies.htm

A friend of mine just gave me a double electric fan out of a chrysler I hooked it up to my jeep to test it out and aech fan pulls more air than the one on my Jeep.

Check out a dual fan setup from a 4th gen F-body (Camaro/Firebird). I scored a set for around $30 from the local yard (I know the owner). I hooked them up using separate adjustable temp thermostat switches so I could turn them on separately at tempatures of 185 & 195 degrees (I run a 180 thermostat). Using two circuits helps ensure that one faulty relay, switch or blown fuse doesn't totally disable the cooling. It's been in there for three years now with no problems, even in 100+ degree Texas heat with a 396BB and the A/C blowin' cold. I was going to add an A/C relay to turn the fans on when the A/C was activated, but I haven't had any problems with it, so I'll probably just leave it alone. Just make sure your electrical system is up to the task of the added draw.

I used a mid 90's Crown Vic fan. Any of the big Ford fans work good.

Its hard to beat Wes's setup, I went with the stainless shroud and have had no problems in the past year.

Blazerman, thanks for the pic. That set-up looks really nice. Looks like I'll be doin' some overtime. 383 stroker, that is a real clean set-up you have also. What radiator is that? Aluminum I guess, sure looks better than the stocker I have. Did you bend your fan brackets? They are well made. Thanks, Danny

I was at the junkyard today looking for the same thing and saw a nice 2 fan setup from a 95 dodge stratus. It looks to have almost the exact dimensions of our rad. Stupid junkyard wants $100 though.

I have the 94 camaro fans, and they are shrouded. They fit the radiator almost perfectly.

I used the camaro radiator, too. It had brackets for it. The camaro radiator was almost exactly the same size as the trucks, so this fan set up should cover the radiator really well. If I had to put it on the trucs radiator, I would probably just fab some brackets for it. It doesn't weigh that much, you could probably get by with a few tie wraps through (I'm not opposed to using tie wraps...the modern bailing wire!) I have better pics, but not small ones for the post... PM with email, and I'll send some after I get back from vacation.

polevault1977, the Radiator is a Griffin 31x19" 2 row 1-1/4" rows. I bent the small brackets myself. I had the piece on top bent at a metal shop.
