E-brake Intermediate Cable Length
Searched around here and didn't come up with an answer. Looking to shorten a LWB cable for use on my SWB, but need to know how long (or short) to make it. So, anyone have info on what length a SWB intermediate e-brake cable should be? Truck is a '70 with foot pedal and trailing arms.
Thanks -Chris

Re: E-brake Intermediate Cable Length
Bumpidy. Anyone have one off their truck they could pull tape on? Vendors don't seem to list lengths on their sites...

Re: E-brake Intermediate Cable Length
I had mine custom made from stainless cable. I have a 81 1 ton rear end so original wasn't going to work. Just had to measure the length I needed and call them. I used a 68 1/2 inch with barrel ends. www.inlinetube.com 586-532-1338. Was only $20. Also bought GM cable connectors and an equalizer to make adjusting a little easier.

Re: E-brake Intermediate Cable Length
according to AC Delco the lwb intermidiates are 119.5/8" and the swb are 95.1/8". They are only like 18 to 20.00.. They still make them. Delco part number
18P18 just for info rear cables are 40.1/2" the fronts are 73.1/8" Last edited by mbgmike; 04-16-2011 at 08:13 PM. |
