Power stearing identification

Can somebody tell me what my power steering is off of. So that I can purchase new lines? Also how do I bleed the steering?

Re: Power stearing identification

Looks like the same setup I pulled off an early 80's Chevy 1/2 ton to use in my truck. I think the same setup was used from the 70's into the 80's so the only thing would be whether it has SAE or metric lines. I would just take one with me to the local parts store and try and match it up.

To bleed, I usually just jack up the front end (using jack stands of course) and turn the wheel lock to lock several times with the engine running. Check fluid, repeat if necessary.

There is no need to determine an exact year to find hoses. It is from either a C10,20 or 30 pickup, 2wd Blazer or Suburban. If it is a '69-'80 box and pump it will have SAE fittings. If it is a '81-'87 box and pump it will have metric with an O-ring fittings.

I do the same thing, but with a new box or rack, I fill it and turn the wheel with the engine off first.
