I tried my hand at drawing my truck. I can't figure out how to do the wheels yet, but I will learn. I am also trying to figure out how to draw it at different angles.

Cleaned up and installed my traction bars... More for looks rather than function.

I gave notice at my current job, so I'll be starting a new one soon. It is scary because I have been at the same place since 1999.

A friend of mine brought his late 70s 2WD blazer by the house to show me. He used the roof and back of a pickup cab to turn it into a little pickup. It came out really nice, and looks like it could be factory. He is a very talented fabricator and bodyman who builds hotrods for a living.

Re: what did you get done 4/17/11 palm sunday /income tax edition

I took out the brand new felt kit that has been sitting in the corner of my garage for about 4 years now and got the drivers side installed before the rain started. Had my 9yr old son help me (small hands are good in the door) and now he has been referring to it as "his" truck.

Leaving the ratty old interior panel off until I decide what to do with it, maybe recover?

All about the baby steps

It was really neat, but I don't have any pics.

I have seen a couple of others, so you might be able to find pics of something similar. One was a pretty well known chow truck at one point, apparently. I think it was silver with multicolored stripes. I saw pics of it posted on here once.

They look neat because you know something is not right immediately, but it takes a minute to figure out what is different.

Re: what did you get done 4/17/11 palm sunday /income tax edition

I spent the weekend working in my yard and driveway. I spent the morning planting a few flats of color in my beds. The afternoons were spent working in my driveway. The weather was absolutely beautiful, so I worked outside my garage to enjoy it.

I have been rebuilding an arbor that had rotted away. I salvaged what I could and built the rest from PVC pipe and wrought iron. I will post pics later.

In the meantime I did do something truck related. I unwrapped my new front bumper. Follow the link below for pics and details...

Damned alternator went out, replaced that.

Finally got my dash pad put in.

Spent more time trying to break the 65 Fairlane than I did with the GMC.
