Re: new clutch noise.HELP
I'm confused. Probably need to explain the problem a little better.. When you say it "won't go into gear from a dead stop in neutral" do you mean it jams or is it hard to shift into first gear? The reason I ask is because you also say it makes a noise when in gear. How do you manage to get it into gear?
Questions: Did you replace the throwout bearing/pressure plate also? The noise may be a worn throwout bearing or if it's new, a defective one. If you also replaced the pressure plate, I've had to replace brand new ones before because they wouldn't release properly. But, the first thing you need to check is clutch play and link arm adjustment and insure you have tight rubber inserts in all of the link arm holes. |

Re: new clutch noise.HELP
what its TTT???
68gmsee. well the only way i can get her into gear is to start her in gear. but when i have her in neutral and start her up there is no noise. but when i start her in gear ther is a noise like a vaccum leak. i replaced everything. t.o. bearing, pilot bearing, clutch disk, pressure plate. i was thinking the linkage also. but i been under the weather and havent had the drive to work on her. spring is in full bloom here in AZ so my allergies triggered a head cold. again. thanks 4 the help guys! it is much appreciated! |
