bucket seats?? what fits
I am wanting to put some new buckets in my 84 c10 standard 2wd,,, will the buckets with power and integrated seatbelts work in these trucks with little modification or is it a no go??
is there any resource on what seats work in these trucks? I have some old suburban buckets that i took out.

Re: bucket seats?? what fits
I have a set from an 03 Silverado. We mocked them into the cab and it doesn't seem to be to hard. They do sit about 3" higher than stock and there is a noticeable difference in sitting height and tighter fit behind the steering wheel with the stock 03 seat frame. What our plans are to do is make a piece of steel to mount from the front outside mount to the seat belt front rear mount on the outboard side. Than add a mount with reinforcements underneath on the inside and take another piece of steel to go back to the inside seat belt mount. Depending on how that works out I might try to lower them a little by removing the spacers on the 03's seat rails. My father in law is making the brackets now so they mold to the truck floor. It works much better on the Blazers with the flat floor.

I had to mod my floor to get my 01 sierra 40-20-40 seats to work.

That blue trk looks great, did you cut the floor down, how did you connect the digitalgauges to the tranny?

Re: bucket seats?? what fits
Thanks. Yes the floor had to be cut to lower the seats about four inches. You can see it in the pics with out the seats

Re: bucket seats?? what fits
Did the seat end up being up higher than stock or pretty close? When I set mine in the truck it felt like my knees were even with the A/C vents on the dash.

Re: bucket seats?? what fits
The four inch drop put them at the same height as the stock bench seat.

Re: bucket seats?? what fits
I used some buckets from a Chrysler Sebring convert. that I found on eBay. I then found a matching microfiber material to match the suede inserts to finish the interior. I believe this style was offered from 03-06, but I could be mistaken. I welded up a frame, utilizing the stock bench rails, and welded the Sebring rails to it. The nice thing with the Sebring seats is that they flip forward and slide, since they were for a two-door with back seats. This makes for easy access to whatever you have behind the pass. seat. I can tell you this: Like previously said, the floor will have to be modified, in trucks and burbs, to make late model GM truck seats work (Blazer guys luck out here). I wanted to keep my dual tanks, so I did not go that route. Also, CTS seats won't work. I am 90% sure that the seats that were offered in the late model F-150, with integrated belts, will work.

Re: bucket seats?? what fits
When I bought my truck it already had Qualitex seats and console in it. I think they look perfect. I'll post up some pics. I believe that JCW sells them.

Re: bucket seats?? what fits
Not sure of the year of the truck they came out of but i think its around 03. It wasnt to bad to build brackets for them to make them fit. I'm no master fabricator by no means, I built the brackets and them installed in one Saturday. I love the seat belts built in.

Re: bucket seats?? what fits
Those look like a split bench. Or did you build a console to match the seats? Any pics of the tracks you built? Do they sit to high?

Re: bucket seats?? what fits
StokinRat, they look really great.
Our 85 Scottsdale has been hostage for a year in a paint and body shop in D'Lo MS. That's down the road from you! We have got to the seats part, and run out of money. I found front black leather power 2000 Audi A6 bucket seats, however, they do not have the sliders. Seats were cheap ($125 both) and took them from Houston to MS a couple of weeks ago. Now we are wondering if it's worth trying to have brackets built and where to get sliders. If you have any suggestions that could help us. It's been a difficult process as we have been going back and forth to MS due to family illness, and never had much time to deal with the truck. This week the shop has finally finished with all the e4xterior, so it's now a matter of putting the interior back together. Wondered if you got the upholstery done? |

Re: bucket seats?? what fits
Man i don't know anything about an audi seat. I'm sure it can be done but wouldn't know where to tell you to start. I will tell you this much after i bought my seats for $150 then spent the time to fab them in and then had them upholsted it would have been just has cheap to buy a set that just bolted right in. What i mean by that is that i found a seat on a website, whice i forget the name of it now, that you could buy the seat for like $600 something and buy a adapter for another $40 that will make the seat sit right in place. I know you have already spent the money on the audi seat and would probably want to use them but i was just throwing it out there. Good luck with it though. I have family in Crosby,Tx. I think thats not that far from you. We were down there last summer for Texas Showdown truck show. I only thought it got hot here, but it was miserable there.

Re: bucket seats?? what fits
I don't have any pics of it, but a friend of mine put a set of 89 Cutlass Ciera seats in his 78 K10. I know he didn't break the seats apart from the factory mounts, which meant he had to shift them about 6 inches toward the drivers side. The height was just about perfect. I just wish I had some pictures to put up, but he got rid of it about 10 years ago.
