Custom trim, but not originals???
Hi. I recently painted my truck and i was looking to buy repoduction trim. but the price for the uppers and lowers and the tailgate is too high for my daily driver. So, (the point) has anyone found a place that has extruded custom trim that can be bolted to the stock mounting holes. I was looking for something stainless, instead of the flexable 3m products, in 3/4 inch and 1inch. Thanks for your time...

Re: Custom trim, but not originals???
I wasn't going to mention this idea of mine until I actually tried it out but I'm thinking of "painting" moldings on my 71 Cheyenne. I too can't justify the cost of buying all new moldings and if I go with the 2 tone scheme, it's going to need something.
My thoughts are to try and make them look just like the original chrome and black moldings. I'll probably just do a silver and black. I think it would look pretty good at least in my minds eye. Not sure if you would consider this approach but if you do, let me know how it works out. We can use your truck as the test subject instead of mine. ![]()
