77 c10 454 - 502 !!

Well I have really liked the power my 454 has been making but time for more power! So I figured id start a build thread

I'll add more info on truck and motors after while. Here is some pics!

The truck!

The 454 !!

The 502 !!

The tear down and clean up !!

OK motor specs!!
454 unknown bottom end, 049 heads, unknown if they have anything done to them!
Flat tappet cam 244 duration @ .050, 544 lift ! RPM air gap, Holley 870, msd ignition, Hooker 1'' 5/8 primary, 3'' collector.
Built th350 with 3k stall, 10 bolt rear with new auburn posi and 3.73 gears.

Best time the truck ran was an 8.16 1/8th mile .

Now the good stuff.... The 502 !!
VI 502ci same as a GMPP 502HO. 119cc 2.25/1.88 valves, Forged Pistons, Forged rods, Forged crank. 8.75.1 comp stock 450hp / 550ft lbs.
New stuff is a Doug Herbert top end kit with Aluminum heads, 325cc intake, 115cc, 2.25/1.88 valves, Harland sharp Roller rockers, Solid roller cam 253/266 duration @ .050, 685 lift, Stud girdles, arp bolts, Hurricane single plane intake. The kit also has all the gaskets and bolts and misc. stuff. Also have a weind aluminum water pump and will be using my msd ignition and holley 870.
I have a set of Super comp headers with 2'' 1/8th primary with 3'' 1/2'' collector.

Bottom end will stay the same but will be checked and gone through. I am hoping for at least 650hp and same for ft lbs.
I also have a n2o plate system good for an extra 200hp. I have a th400 but may try and find a 4l80e cheap enough. Rear end will be getting new 33 spline axles, C clip elim's and mouser rear end cover with Cal-tracs. Front will be getting a set of trick springs with drag shocks. Plan on getting a 4-8 point roll cage and racing seats.

I would love to see this truck get a high 6 sec. 1/8th mile but we will see! Hope that covers most of it and what the plan is for the truck! Thanks all for looking and I am sure I will need help on a few things in the process. Thats it for now!

Re: 77 c10 454 - 502 !!

The tires are 245/60 front and 325/50 rear!

Update kinda: Got the block cleaned ready for paint, the bottom end is all done.
Found out they sent the wrong head gaskets, so now waiting for the turn around on those!
Once i get those in then i can get the heads on set lash and check everything. Ugh !! Another 2 weeks of waiting!
