El Camino a Pickup? AC question
So I wanted to ask some questions about the El Camino I was working on, but realized that this might not be the appropriate forum. Please point me in the right direction if I'm wrong.
Basically I'm sort of rebuilding a '76 Elky and I want to rip out all the AC components, and I mean everything, not just the compressor and little stuff. But I'm worried I'm going to create more problems. Is there anything in particular that I should worry about? thanks, Kenneth |

If you get rid of the a/c box on the firewall, you'll have to fab a plate to cover the holes. This in itself is simple enough, but the prob is that your firewall will look unsymetrical when finished unless you also build/add a section to the cowl on the pass side to keep the entire firewall straight/flat all the way across.
I was going to put a Vintage air set-up in a non a/c 79 camino I used to own. My plan was to just put in block off plates where needed. After seeing that problem I decided to strip a newer model malibu of its a/c components & put a factory system in.
