I have a question about this control unit. I assumed that it looked at the height sensors and made its adjustment, but the features say it uses pressure sensors too. What are the pressure sensors doing? Wouldn't the pressure be different at each corner and depend on slope of the road? Here is a cut an paste from their website.

That comment you highlited pretty much sums it up. With the standard Ride Pro system it just monitors air pressure. You set your bags at ride height by pressure. The E3 system has mechanical voltage sensors at each corner to calculate both pressure and height combined.

how can it look at both? Is it using PID control?

The ECU monitors bag pressure as well as sensor voltage. On initial set up you select the bottom, middle, and top of the range and preset those as 1,2, and 3. The ecu then calibrates and sets the perimeters. If the system see's a change in those perimeters it adjusts accordingly.

Thanks for posting Ken. This is one of a couple features why I like the Ridepro E3 over other ride control systems, by monitoring both pressure and height it assures a faster response to rideheight/proper spring rate time which is almost instant, also by being able to monitor pressure it allows you to trouble shoot small issues if they arise. The Ridepro E3 is by far thee best control system on the market

This looks like a good product but why would it measure 0-5V instead the instrument standard of 1-5 volts? Most instruments use 1-5 volts to allow for a failed signal to be detected. Is there any failure mode if one of the sensors fails?

0-5 is a general term but it is actually 0.5-4.5. There are failure mods and error codes for just about everything with the e-3 from low voltage,air leaks, to a failed sensor. The industry standard for data acquisition is 0.5-4.5 if it does go to 0 it sees that in the software and will throw an error code...

Also, can you quote me a price on the ridePro system and levelPro sensors? I'm also thinking about upgrading my existing system also. Does the ride pro system come with pigtails to attach the twist connections to my existing system?

I will PM the pricing and to answer your question yes the sensors do come with the wiring harness with attached weather pack connectors...

For clarification, the pigtail I was referring to is the connection between the e3 and my existing valves, the valves are not ridetech.

I have SMC valves. After searching a little harder. The twist connections go to the height sensors. I would need the valve block harness. It looks like I can just remove the connectors that plug into the big red valves and solder the in a different style connector to attach my valves. Does the control unit come with this harness?

it comes with the valve block harness but it is designed to plug into the ridepro valves, you will need to splice that into your valve wiring harness. I'm going to Sac for pleasure I'm from roseville orig.
