Where to find a 2 wire vehicle harness-to-HEI connector
Hello, I have looked at murrays, pepboys, autozone and do not find a 2 wire plug for the HEI I am putting into my BB.
I need the two wires so I can hook up the tach to it. According to all the conversion schematics I see, you need the two wire plug. Where can I buy a new one? Thanks

I'm pretty sure Summit has 'em. I could of sworn that I have on occasion seen them at local parts places. I know you want the plug, but seperate electrical female spade terminals work too. Good luck.

You can use a crimp on spaid terminal.
You could go to the junk yard and get one, if you get one off a pontiac or caddy, there'll be plenty extra becouse the dist being up front. (just get a power lead, nothing special about the tach wire) |

Have you tried a Chevy dealer? GM has a two-prong connector that MIGHT be what you're looking for, but I haven't seen a picture, and it costs $27.67. It's PN 12167658. Then there's the HEI single power lead, PN 8917052, for $3.25.

Re: Where to find a 2 wire vehicle harness-to-HEI connector
a 3 wire alternator with the side by side connectors fits, i think. napa has them on the shelf. i recently pilliaged an old chevette for all kinds of oem wire goodies and vacuum lines. i even got an inline washer pump. i like to splice the factory connectors i get from old wire harness' when i need them. all the plugs are the same in most gm vehicles even the crappy ones.

I know Schucks/oriellys has them under the Accel name. People behind the counter didn't know what I was talking about but they were hidden mixed in with the plug wires. Brought it home to my dad and he was you paid 14 bucks for that?! Took it back and we just used a wire connector.

Re: Where to find a 2 wire vehicle harness-to-HEI connector
Cheapest route is to use 2 different plugs. PICO makes them and you can find them on eBay or Amazon. These will work:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HEI-D...Q5fAccessories and you can add good quality wire and solder it. Along those lines a slick way to get full voltage to your HEI (which is important) is to use a relay and use the original wire to switch it on and run good wire from your horn relay or other good source.
