PO _ cluster Question
1.so the previous owner destroyed my 63's instrument cluster, and i want to get this straight, so any 60-66 instrument cluster will work in my truck,
2.when replacing rockers and floor pans, do you do the floor pans first, or rockers first. And does the cab need braced, when cutting floors and rockers 3. What the best stuff to use to paint the frame and other equipment in the undercarriage. thanks for the help guys, this site and information is great

Re: PO _ cluster Question
#2 the inner rocker is partof the floor pan. I would x brace it -cant't hurt, better safe than sorry- then cut out the rockers and floors at the same time, do the floor first, then weld the rocker to it.
just cut out as much of the floor as you need... I usually try to retain as much good factory metal as possible. alans classic build thread has some good pics of floor/rocker repair, maybe on page 20 or so? he did it early in the build.

Re: PO _ cluster Question
I was doing some searching for parts and ran across something you should look at. He is selling parts and has them all photoed on webshots under the name Colettesbro. I have a 1960 and put the gauge set from a 1 1/4 ton truck...I like the gauges over the idiot lights.
I am doing floor and rockers. I did not do x bracing but if I had to do it again I would. It does not hurt to take a lot of measurements and mark center line of the cab. lots of reference marks will help. But you should only do one side at a time. There are a lot of ideas about frame paint. Por 15 is good and popular. I'm using a ceramic paint from Eastwood...have not sprayed yet so I can't tell you how good it is. Powder coat is pretty but if you take a rock you can't repair it.
