Division Post Seal

I tried a search and came up empty so while I wait for my manual to come in the mail, here goes.

1957 3100 Division post seal. The chrome vent window assembly has some raised bosses and it appears that the previous owner just glued the old division post seals on. My question is this, is glue used to install these, just rivets or a combination. Also, when using rivets, I assume you rivet from inside the channel (door glass side) and can I just use regular pop rivets if I can get my rivet gun to fit? It seems like the rivets would show from the seal side...won't that interfere with the vent window sealing up against the seal itself????

I sure hope i've explained this properly for those of you willing to answer. I can provide pictures in the morning if needed..

thanks,
LDO

Re: Division Post Seal

It's pop riveted in on my 57 3100 and looks to be original, but I don't know for sure. The rivet heads do show and face the seal side.

Re: Division Post Seal

The rivets are for the are for the vent wing seal and vent wing frame, The felt is glued in the division bar. Regular rivets would stick out too much. Brothers or classic parts have the correct ones and an installation tool. Hope that helps
