voltage regulator
What cause a external voltage regulator to go bad with in 2 months?I got it form napa if anyone asks.She's not charging the Battery.Put a new one in and its fine.But I dont think they should go bad in a month or two.....

I have had good luck with the original Delco regulators but very poor luck with the new ones. I don't buy new regulators for the same problem that you had. They don't seem to last. If one of my regulators go bad I replace it with another used one, (which is seldom). The other option is to replace the alternator with the newer internal regulators which works out well.
The original regulators have a ground wire from the regulator to the radiator support and without the ground the regulator will not regulate properly. The rubber mounted screws are for vibration reduction. Jim

good grounding is essential from regulator to core support and also the ground from core support to the frame// new stuff has crappier contacts and a poor or partial ground will cause them to burnup quick
