Clam Shells

Over the years, I've collected several sets of square body motor mounts (clam shells). I now have a set of 72 big block clam shells so I can compare the sets up close.
Can you tell which ones are for the 72 big block?

Re: Clam Shells

Yes, you are correct. They are very close. Another clue is that there is nothing greasier than a tired big block...well a 6.2 diesel is the greasiest. It looks like the square body shells will work good with the 72 big block towers.

Re: Clam Shells

Eric, Your prize...maybe I'll send you some square body shells one day!

Geoff, I think a purist might pay $30-$40 for the correct shells rather than using square body ones.

For exact 72 model year w/bbc and verification by p/n, the bottom pair should both be stamped with part #3993722 on ends where the long thru bolt enters/exits. Mel
