What firewall mount brake pedal assembly for 52AD?
I am racking my brain trying to find a firewall mounted brake pedal assembly for my 52. I've seen several build projects with power booster/pedal assemblies but can't make out the style or vehicle they came out of. Any help is greatly appreciated.

What fabrications did the G body set up require? Any details or photos?

I think you've asked me about my s10 setup before. It's all apart now so let me know if you want more detailed pics of how I did it. Also I'd mention that you're looking for 3 pedals and not 2.

I have looked at several S10 pedals and they look very short. Maybe the S10 brake pedal will work after all. I'm ready to set up the brake pedal and need something as soon as possible.

I think whichever way you go, you'll want to match the brake pedal and the booster/master out of the same vehicle, so you don't have to mess with bolt patterns and pushrod changes. I assume the HD you have the pedal from had hydroboost.
Maybe since you have the wilwood clutch pedal and master, their brake pedal and master would match and look better than something else.

I have S10. They are a bit short but you get used to them in a minute. And 3 pedals are always better.

Re: What firewall mount brake pedal assembly for 52AD?
I'm not sure if the S10 clutch master cylinder would be strong enough for the T56 slave bearing. I found a S10 with all three pedals.

Re: What firewall mount brake pedal assembly for 52AD?
Why wouldn't it be strong enough? Make sure it is a 1:1 ratio and it is fluid in, fluid out. It is still a truck slave and they did put NV3500s with the slave bearings in them. We have the 3500 with the external cylinder. For now!
Also, you could get a replacement cylinder and still use the pedals, you just have to make sure you put it in right and use the right rod. |

Re: What firewall mount brake pedal assembly for 52AD?
I decided to go with a Wilwood pedal/master cylinder set up. The throttle pedal is from a late model S10.

Re: What firewall mount brake pedal assembly for 52AD?
You are going to have to reinforce the firewall in that area with at least a steel plate behind it or you will soon crack the firewall out.
I can understand a guy having to put the master cylinder up on the firewall when you swap frames to the S-10 frame but i never liked to see them there as it clutters up the engine compartment too much. Someone needs to come up with bolt on under the floor pedal linkage and master cylinder (s) for the S-10 swaps. That Wilwood setup is about as clean as you are going to get hanging on the firewall though, in and out. |

Good enough, I have seen enough over the past 40 years that didn't have any sort of reinforcement to want to ask.
