Re: 295/65 R15 anyone running them? Will They fit on 8" ralleys?

I am currently setting up some custom 15x8" steelies with 295/65r15 M/T drag radials, and so far, I think it looks awesome. The truck has a 3"/4" coil drop, stock 15x5.5 fronts w/ 225/70r15. I'm going for the exaggerated hot-rod, but not quite pro-street look, and i think that rear tire is perfect. The truck currently has no engine, trans, or drive shaft either. It should sit at least an inch lower once carrying the extra weight. I also like the way they look on the narrower rim compared to the the 10" wide one. I like a tire to have a bit of a bulge in the sidewall. It makes it look muscular. Too bad BFG doesn't make the radial T/A in 285/70r15 anymore...

Wrong body style, I know... Just wanted to give somewhat of a frame of reference. I think that with the larger fender wells of the '73-'87, you could fit a 31x12.50r15. Hoosier makes a Pro Street radial in this size. Use a 15x10" with a carefully selected back-spacing and you're in!

Coker Tire Co makes the BFG 285-70-15 in it's Silvertown series tire.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.
