TPI conversion
I just scored a TPI set up off of Ebay. I was wondering how may of my Blazer buddies have done this conversion and what to look out for. What fuel pumps did you use and what pcm? Thanks.

Re: TPI conversion
I did one 10 yrs ago,is yours gonna be a speed density setup or metered airflow? I got a complete injection with computer and bought a painless wiring kit pretty easy, I always liked a setup with a mass airflow sensor it allowed me to run a cam with some lope without getting the computer tuned! I ran a flat tappet 214int 224ex nothing crazy but a lot better than stock and it had a mean idle @750rpm

Re: TPI conversion
I did it a few years back. Great mod! There are a lot of great sites on the web for info on this conversion. Take your time, plan it out, and learn what all the parts and sensors do. It'll really help in the long run when you've got some troubleshooting to do. I used a stock wiring harness and spent the time to learn where all the wires went. For a fuel pump, I used an in tank unit from Tanks, Inc. http://www.tanksinc.com/index.cfm/pa...prod/prd84.htm You need to extend the vertical riser about 2" to reach the bottom of the stock blazer tank.
I've got a lot of notes and websites somewhere, I'll see what I can dig up. Ask all the questions you want.

Re: TPI conversion
there is a company in Minnesota that specializes in this. If you google TPIS, you will get to talk to the experts!! Great customer service, and guidance thru your project! I spoke to BOB the other day, and MAN, what a wonderful experience

Re: TPI conversion
So is the TPI setup essentially an EFI tunnel ram?
i know the runners are curved, but if you stretched them out, or really measured them, they would be about the same length as a carb tunnel ram manifold? |
