I just got back from a 3000 mile roundtrip to pick up a car. It was what the seller had described, so I got lucky. You just cant be scared to walk away if its not what they said it was. I was very specific with my questions before I left, but it is very hard to buy a car based on pictures, no matter how many are taken. In this case, it sounds like a few pics would have completely elimantaed the problem.

Very true, one good pic of the pass bed side would have been all I needed. I think my one previous experience with long distance buying probably made me a little more trusting than I should have been. That and the fact that the owner sounded very sincere on the phone. My bull**** meter didn't go off at all while talking to him. I bought a 72 240z out of arizona a few years ago and it was exactly what was described when it got here. I guess this truck put me further back into the "be cautious, take no chances" mindset.

Just watch the louisville ky craigslist sometimes swb pop up not bad priced and not needing much.
