Need tranny mount help

I'm trying to mock up my engine and tranny but can't figure out where the tranny is supposed to sit on the crossmember. it may be a dumb question but the truck came incomplete and Ive only had 4x4's befor this one.
The truck is 2wd and had a 292 and a 4 speed originally and I'm changing it to a 350 with the same 4 speed.
If you can help great if you have pics or a diagram even better.

Your issue is that the 292 originally sat further back than the new V8 and V8 mounts you have. Your options are to either...

1) Find a V8 standard trans crossmember, remove your present crossmember and replace with proper one. Then lengthen your driveshaft to accommodate the new forward position of the transmission. You'll also need to cut a new hole in your floor tunnel since the shifter will now be forward of where it was originally. You'' also need to move your clutch linkage pivot on the frame further forward too.
2) Use a pair of 250 inline 6 engine frame stands and mount your V8 back in the rearward spot so the original crossmember and driveshaft will work as is. This requires no mods to floor tunnel, no rivet removing, no new crossmembers and no driveshaft modification or clutch linkage changes.

does this help with the original tranny crossmember??? mine was the same as yours except it had the 235 motor and 3 on the tree. setup was the same. had to use different motor mounts from a v8 and shorten the driveshaft to fit

Yes, there are two threaded holes in the bellhousing. Bolts thread through the rubber mounts on the crossmember and up into the bellhousing.

The other poster has an auto trans and an entirely different crossmember setup.
