I don't tow with blazer! but I do with my 94 1500 and I have the same notch on it with a 4-6 drop. I tow a 6.5 x12 trailer with a Polaris rzr and a 4 wheeler almost every weekend in the summer. I just bolted the notch in then welded the seams and boxed the back side of the frame. It's a little extra work but well worth it!!

Thanks MK thats some good infor I have a brother who is a welder by trade and I was going to have him do the back side don't think I will be towing with it just a cruiser

are the springs on the 2wd blazer the same as a pickup center to center

according to google results the length measured along the spring surface is the same for 1973-1987 pickups and blazers of the 2wd persuasion. The difference is the arch and weight capacity. Pickups have a 7 3/4 in arch with 1,290 capacity and Blazers have a 5 3/4 inch arch with 2,110 capacity. with a different arch the eye to eye measurement will be shorter for the pickup springs. also note the springs will compress more when using pickup truck springs on a blazer which will cause clearence issues under compression

the info i got was from the site that info was sorced from http://www.generalspringkc.com/index.php and one other http://www.sdtrucksprings.com/ . even that data isn't eye to eye. its measured along springs surface. the arch will change the eye to eye distance as well as compression.

I guess the easy way would be to do a flip kit on the back which will be about 5-6 in drop and use my 3 in drop spindles and use 1 -2 springs on the front . any Ideal on shocks. I have seen shock extender use on the rear. like I said earlier I have brand new set kyb shocks that came with it front and rear shocks
